when i am reminded of my size
of the fact that my head

isn't part of my body
though it is connected
though it is connected
when awe, ease, and trust
are words that settle in
and still i know the smallness
of being human
when loved ones leave us
to go home or HOME
forever or until sooner or later
and what is left is a shadow
